3Y0J: CANCELLED ---> Team Co-Leaders Paul Ewing, N6PSE and Kenneth Opskar,
LA7GIA announced on 13 June that the 2023 DXpedition to Bouvet Island has
been cancelled. "The global pandemic has impacted the expedition charter
vessel business very hard; this includes the venerable RV 'Braveheart' which
has provided outstanding safety and service to many DXpeditions. As you
know, we had signed a contract with 'Braveheart' for 3Y0J.
Today, we were informed that 'Braveheart' will be sold. As a result, Nigel
Jolly will no longer be associated with the ship, our contract with the ship
has been cancelled and our deposit will be refunded. This is a very disap-
pointing development to all involved.
At this time, we are cancelling the 3Y0J Dxpedition. We have ceased accept-
ing donations and we will begin refunding 100% of the donations using the
same method they were received, i.e. PayPal, cash or check. This process
will take several weeks to sort out, so please be patient.
We wish to thank our team for putting their trust in us. We wish to thank
all of the donors and sponsors that gave generously to this project. We will
continue to research other ships and possibly find another suitable vessel
for a future project".
"Some ask us why don't we just charter another ship", N6PSE posted to the
3Y0J's Facebook group on 14 June. "That seems logical, however we have not
found another ship that is both suitable and affordable. 'Cdt Fourcault' and
'Hanse Explorer' both charge over $1 million USD for a charter to Bouvet.
That is well beyond what a DXpedition can manage. We have the desire to go,
we lack an affordable ship that is capable".

QSL VIA SM6WYN ---> Ulrika, SM6WYN has taken over the QSL management for the
operations previously handled by her late father Nils, SM6CAS. These include
- 3D2CU and 3D2CT (Conway Reef 1995)
- T31T, T31K and T31YL (Central Kiribati 1999)
- T32MI, T32SI, T32CI and T32VI (OC-279, OC-280, OC-281 and OC-282, 2010)
- T33KK and T33CS (Banaba 1994)
- TF4/SM6CAS (EU-168, 1995)
- V63CS (OC-012, OC-078 and OC-180, 1993)
- ZK3CW, ZK3DX and ZK3YL (Tokelau 1999)
Niels "was also the QSL manager for Mats, SM7PKK, for example 5X1Z and his
Pacific tour call signs in 1988-1990. I'll now be the QSL manager for all
callsigns listed above, as well as my father's Swedish callsigns SM6CAS and
SK6PJ". QSL to Ulrika Persson, Stoppstalle 648, SE-296 33 Ahus, Sweden. [TNX

YOTA CONTEST 2021 ---> Organized by the IARU R1 Youth Working Group in co-
operation with the Hungarian Amateur Radio Society (MRASZ), the newly born
YOTA Contest's aim is to increase youngsters activity on the air, strengthen
the reputation of the YOTA programme and demonstrate support for youngsters
across the world. Owing to "unforeseen date collisions", the second round of
YOTA Contest 2021 has been postponed from the previously announced date (17
July) to 18 July, 1000-2159 UTC. See https://ham-yota.com/contest for
complete rules, claimed scores, etc. [TNX IARU Region 1]
